Well gang, I just saw your show in Mansfield, Mass and the fun that is shown in this clip was also apparent on the stage! I don't go to many concerts anymore, but I have caught almost every ZPZ tour since he/you started. I have to say, this one was BY FAR the best. Musically I was blown away - it's at yet another level even higher than ever before. Note for note, (and I was really afraid you were going to run out of notes that night you were playing so many) it was on par with the likes of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones.... but your show far surpassed theirs with your addition of musical humor, creativity and experimentation. It just completely blew me away. I couldn't get the wide eyes and grin on my face all night long.
I also really appreciated getting to hear music from 200 Motels and Freak Out with the high sonic quality and dead-perfect mix. I always had a hard time listening to those albums due to the poor recording quality they had to work with back then, and now I could really enjoy the music for what it is. What a treat. Oh and yeah.. that was another thing what was superb on this tour (or at least at this venue) the sound quality. I was in the 6th row, and it was not painfully loud as many of your other shows have been. It was powerful enough to shake me in my seat, but mixed so perfectly that I could hear every note from every instrument.... and that's what it needs to be for what you do.
So to all of you, especially Dweezil... THANK YOU! Thank you for all your hard work, thank you for keeping Frank's music alive, and thank you for still proving that humor does, indeed, belong in music evermore!
